Well-known Young and the Restless star Victoria Rowell, who filmed her comedic soap opera ‘Rich and Ruthless’ in Jamaica last year, has promised further contributions to the film industry in the island.According to the Observer, the actress, producer, and New York Times best-selling author met with Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange, to discuss her projects and initiatives in the island.
“Persons come to Jamaica, take Jamaica and leave with it, but my goal is to come and commit to Jamaica, employing persons, and to come again and again,” she said.
The Rich and the Ruthless is the first international multi-episode soap opera format to be filmed in Jamaica and will premiere on July 28 on Urban Movie Channel (umc.tv), which is an urban-focused subscription streaming service.
Rowell aka Drusilla in the ‘Young and the Restless’, was born in the United States of America to a Jamaican father and identifies as a part of the Jamaican Diaspora.
